How to participate

The European Vocational Exchange positions itself in the frame of the EU programme ERASMUS+ (incl. partial funding), which has recently launched "ErasmusPro", a policy initiative aimed at increasing the long-term mobility of those involved in vocational education and training.

The European Vocational Exchange is helping to close the gap between vocational experience and the academic path of education. It can contribute to an attractive employment offer for young professionals and apprentices and can enhance their long-term employability. At the same time, it will create a more mobile and flexible workforce for participating companies.

The European Vocational Exchange is a functioning programme with a simple and replicable framework for responsibilities, based on bilateral agreements between companies.

Participant selection

The participant needs to be a young vocational employee under contract with one of the partner companies.
This programme is designed for employee with a vocational background only, without Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or similar college qualification.

Mission identification

Potential host sites and missions are identified that fit the participant profile and company needs. In the future, a platform will support candidates and managers to find a mission or profile that fits their needs.

Mission preparation

Both sending and receiving HR entities are involved in the process. An interview is held between the participant and the manager of the receiving entity. A mission letter and description are drafted, as well as supporting Erasmus+ documents.
The participant, supported by HR in the receiving entity, begins research for accommodation.

The mission

The participant starts working in the new organization, with activities overseen and supported by line managers and HR professionals.
Follow-up sessions are organised with the participant and the sending and receiving HR departments.

Mission completion

The participant is welcomed back to their home entity.
A presentation offers the chance to wrap-up on what was learned during the experience and to close the cycle.
